The Gasteiner Valley is the longest side Valley of the Hohen Tauern mountain range, bordering on the Rauriser valley and the south side borders on the province of Carinthia.Floating high into the Mountains. The mountain railways in Gastein are also in operation in summer: From the end of May to the end of October at least one mountain railway is always in operation. Attractions on the mountains:140 meter long hangingbridge at the Stubnerkogel scooter routes on the Schlossalma Wellnessoase at the Fulseck Five large skiing areas up to an altitude of 2,650 metres, as well as deep powder snow and moguls, carving pistes and freerides mean a never ending variety of pistes. The skiing areas in the Gasteiner Valley have ideal pistes for every level of skiing. Beginners as well as experts will enjoy themselves to the full. Fantastic skiing connections to choose from - Stubnerkogel-Angetal-Schlossalm, Dorfgastein-Großarltal, the World. Champion Racing mountain the Graukogel and the Hoch Alpine Sportgastein. Because of the ideal altitude and snow making facilities, snow is guaranteed from the end of November until the end of April. Gastein is “live dabei" (a live part) in the largest skiing organisation in Austria with more than 800 kilometres of pistes and 270 lifts.
